There’s always some kind of weird sense of happiness and security when your favorite festival announces the official dates for the next year. You leave the festival this year thinking about how you just had the best weekend of your life and wish you could press rewind. There’s so many festivals leaving us and so many new ones popping up that there’s really just a huge grey area. When the official dates are announced and blind presale tickets are released for that one favorite festival, it’s like you know for sure that you will get to relive that one weekend of pure greatness at least one more time.
Imagine Festival is an annual aquatic themed EDM festival that previously took place in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia and has been one of the fastest growing festivals in the south, with this upcoming year being only the third. It was a fan favorite as the aquatic theme is truly the only of its kind in the US, last year attracting nearly 26,000 ravers alike. This year the festival plans to continue to grow on the idea of an aquatic fairytale with performers, vendors, ceremonies, and workshops. Previous alumni of the festival include Dada Life, Datsik, Adventure Club, Seven Lions, Lil Jon, Brillz, Infected Mushroom, Crystal Castles, and many other legends.
This year the festival announced that it would be adding camping, which obviously means a new venue a little outside of the typical city-scape Atlanta venue. After attending another similar style camping festival this spring, us festival lovers at U.S. are now more sure than ever this year is to be a killer. If you’re still having doubts about whether or not you should go, just know that with the departure of other greater Atlanta area festivals, CounterPoint and TomorrowWorld, Imagine will be going big.
Earlier this month, Iris Presents announced what has been Imagine’s biggest lineup yet. The bangers include Benny Benassi, Borgore, Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead, Nero, BTSM, and Herobust only from Phase I with other artists being released in the coming weeks.
“We were really happy with the lineup from last year, but the first phase of 2016 has us over the moon," says Iris Presents founders Glenn and Madeleine Goodhand. “We constantly challenge ourselves to bring something even better, and this year's challenge was well worth it."
