This year, JMBLYA returns to the festival lineup for its fourth year in a row. The two-day event, hosted by Scoremore, first takes place on May 13, in Dallas, moving from Deep Ellum to Fair Park. On the following day, the event is to be held in Austin, moving from Whitewater Amphitheater to Austin American-Statesman. The turn up includes Future at the top of the bill and features Kevin Gates, DJ Carnage, and Keith Ape, with special guest, Post Malone.
Here are the other acts we’re excited to see perform this year:
Jazz Cartier- This Toronto rapper has been causing waves all year with his newest project Hotel Paranoia, a haunting 16 track album from start to finish, but worth listening to every song. In his song “Stick & Move,” Cartier mentions how “2015 was practice,” and that’s exactly what it seems like since his mixtape drop of Marauding in Paradise last year. He’s recently been down in the south for a few showcases during Austin’s SXSW week. Cartier could be found hanging from ceilings and jumping into crowds, seemingly winning over the audience and gaining new fans.
Rae Sremmurd- Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee, are a brother duo from Atlanta who have been sweeping the college audience with their sound. The two are best known for their hype singles “No Type,” “Throw Sum Mo,” and “No Flex Zone”which have all hit Billboard’s Top 50 when released. For these guys, every day is treated as if it’s a vacation, and every show they perform is like they were throwing the party themselves. There is no limit for these twenty somethings covered in tattoos and living every day like it’s their last.
Kehlani and Noodles- Last but certainly not least, these two Bay area artists are the only women on the lineup, so we definitely expect a lot of focus on what they’ll be bringing to stand out against the men.
Kehlani, an R&B singer from Oakland has been taking the world by storm this past year with three tours, a Grammy nomination, and multiple show appearances.
Noodles, from San Francisco, has been Kehlani’s tour DJ for the past two years, but don’t get that confused for being her only stint. When she’s not on tour, she’s hosting her own parties every month in Los Angeles and making monthly Soundcloud mixes.
With the festival being only one month away, be sure to get your tickets soon because this will sell out before hand! Get 'em here:
